Construction of the chengkang section and lalin section began at the end of 2014. The chengya railway is expected to be completed in 2018, and the sangzhuling tunnel of lalin railway was officially completed on January 17, 2018. The kanglin railway, which has the longest length (about 1,320 kilometers) and the most difficult construction section, is scheduled to start construction at the end of 2018, with a construction period of seven years. The sichuan-tibet railway is scheduled to open to traffic in 2026.
Chengdu to ya ‘an section
The new main line is about 41 kilometers long, with two new stations in famous mountains and ya ‘an. The designed driving speed is 160 kilometers per hour. After the construction is completed, it will only take 1 hour from chengdu to ya ‘an. Construction started in 2014 and is scheduled to open to traffic in 2018.
On April 24, 2018, the last piece of T beam fell on the pier of the leya expressway bridge, marking the completion of the bridge erection of the chengya section of the sichuan-tibet railway and the beginning of the laying stage of the entire track.
Ya ‘an to kangding (xindu bridge) section
The length of the new main line is 295 kilometers, of which 240 kilometers of Bridges and tunnels account for 81 percent and 23 stations. The designed driving speed is 200km/h, and the total construction period is 7.5 years. Feasibility studies are under way.
Kangding (xindu bridge)to nyingchi section
The length of the main line is about 998 kilometers, among which the total length of the bridge and tunnel is about 885 kilometers, accounting for 88.7%, and 76 stations. The designed driving speed is 200km/h, and some difficult areas are 160km/h. The construction period of kanglin railway is 7.5 years, with the longest length (about 1320 kilometers) and the most difficult construction section. The construction period of kanglin railway is planned to start at the end of 2018, and the construction period is 7 years.
Lhasa to nyingchi section
The new main line is about 403 kilometers long and 435 kilometers long in operation, among which the total length of main line Bridges and tunnels is 300 kilometers, accounting for 74%. 34 new stations will be built and 17 will be implemented in the initial stage. The designed driving speed is 160 km/h, and the construction starts in 2014 and 2015. The total construction period is 7 years.
On June 10th this year, the first sleeper of the section between Lhasa and nyingchi of sichuan-tibet railway was officially rolled off the line, which marked that the production of sleeper of the section of sichuan-tibet railway was on the right track and laid a solid foundation for the construction of the section of sichuan-tibet railway in September this year.
